Hervé Mikaeloff

Hervé Mikaeloff (b. 1968, France) is an independent curator and cultural advisor whose practice spans major institutions, private collections, and leading global brands. Based in Paris, he currently advises the LVMH group and the Louis Vuitton Foundation, curating cultural programs that bring contemporary art into dialogue with fashion, innovation, and identity.

A graduate of the École du Louvre in Paris (1991), Mikaeloff began his career at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, followed by a position at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, where he developed a strong foundation in contemporary gallery practice. He later joined the Caisse des Dépôts Art Collection in 1995 as a curator, overseeing international exhibitions in France, the U.S., Brazil, Portugal, Japan, and Hong Kong.

His work is defined by a focus on cultural exchange and narrative curation. Major curatorial projects include the Hennessy 250th Anniversary Tour, a globe-spanning exhibition celebrating the brand’s legacy through contemporary art; Esprit Dior, an exploration of the fashion house’s collaborations with artists from the 1950s to today; and Fly to Baku, the first international showcase of contemporary Azerbaijani art.

Mikaeloff has also collaborated with Sanofi, the Bic Group, and several private banks and collectors, offering strategic cultural advising. His exhibitions often explore themes of memory, materiality, and geography, with particular interest in the Silk Road and other cultural intersections.

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 2011 and received the Golden Plane Award in Baku in 2015.

With a career rooted in thoughtful cultural engagement, Mikaeloff continues to shape the contemporary art landscape through international exhibitions, public programs, and cross-sector partnerships.
